TONY MARTIN

Songwriter of "No Place That Far”, “Banjo”, “Third Rock from the Sun”, and “Why, Why, Why”

Tony Martin has written 16 #1’s over four decades along with Top 5’s and Top 10’s for George Strait, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack, Martina McBride, JoDee Messina Rascal Flatts, Diamond Rio, Joe Diffie, and Joe Nichols, to name a bunch but not all, resulting in more than 300 million album and single sales which made “some pretty good money”, and now untold millions of streams that “don’t pay much of anything”.

Martin grew up in Hendersonville, TN outside of Nashville.  He received a BA in Communications from BYU and began working as a reporter for newspapers in Chicago IL.  When his song, “Baby’s Gotten Good at Goodbye”, was recorded by George Strait, he moved home to Nashville and has experienced consistent success ever since, including:
