A native Floridian, Jimmy’s been performing both as a solo act and with his band, Jimmy Parrish & The Waves, for over thirty years. Armed with a combination of acoustic rock heavily influenced by the music of artists like Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, and Zac Brown, along with his love for the ocean and time spent in the islands of the Bahamas and Caribbean, he helped pave the way for the wildly popular genre, coastal country or tropical themed rock, now known as ‘Trop Rock’.

 

The music of Jimmy and his band has grown greatly in popularity in recent years. With the release of his fourth CD, I Need a New Island, he’s established himself as one of the most well-known acts in the Trop Rock nation. 

 

Performing at nearly 200 events each year, Jimmy continues to headline festivals and Parrot Head events, perform at major resorts, corporate events and private functions throughout the U.S. You can expect to hear high-energy island-style covers by artists like Chesney, Zac Brown, Bob Marley, of course tons of Buffett, along with a long list of popular originals.
